Bogus SVT fast simulation: validation studies
- Releases:
- 6.10.12 for bbsim (SVT reconstruction + Kalman fitter);
- 6.10.10 for Aslund;
- 7.5.1 for Bogus.
In all three cases there were generated 1,000 events with single 1GeV muons.
- Track parameter comparisons:
- These plots show track parameter residuals for bbsim, Aslund, and Bogus reconstructed tracks. The agreement is quite good.
-
These plots show track parameters themselves (with primary vertex smearing turned off in Bogus and Aslund). It is not clear why the momentum (or, basically equivalently, omega) distribution for Aslund looks the way it does; other than this, the plots look reasonable.
Note the difference in the omega distribution for bbsim and Bogus. The long tail that one can see in the Bogus plot is probably from the electrons resulting from the muon bremmstrahlung, which are being parametrized in Bogus downstream modules.
- Note on intrinsic resolution:
The instrinsic resolutions in the fast SVT simulation are being parametrized in terms of cluster width. I've made some comparisons with the information in the TDR. This plot shows the Z intrinsic resolution as a function of incident angle. It is roughly consistent with a similar plot in the TDR (p. 107).
